NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Part 203) (Second Revision) which is identical with IEC 62271-203 : 2022 ‘High-voltage switchgear and controlgear - Part 203: AC gas-insulated metal-enclosed switchgear for rated voltages above 52 kV’ issued by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the High Voltage Switchgear And Controlgear Sectional Committee and approval of the Electrotechnical Division Council.

This standard was originally published in 2008 and was identical with IEC 62271-203 : 2003. The first revision of this standard was undertaken in 2018 to align it with the latest version of IEC 62271-203 : 2011. This revision has been undertaken to align this standard with the latest international practices.
