NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Part 5) which is identical with IEC 63093-5 : 2018 ‘Ferrite cores - Guidelines on dimensions and the limits of surface irregularities - Part 5: EP-cores and associated parts for use in inductors and transformers’ issued by International Electro technical Commission (IEC) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on recommendation of the Magnetic Components, Ferrite Materials, Piezoelectric and Frequency Control Devices Sectional Committee, and approval of the Electronics and Information Technology Division Council.

IS 14498 : 1998 was based on ‘IEC Publication 61596 (1995) ‘Magnetic oxide EP-cores and associated parts for use in inductors and transformers - Dimensions’. The IEC was later published as IEC 63093-5 : 2018. The superseding of above mentioned Indian Standards has been undertaken to align it with the latest version of IEC 63093-5 : 2018 and on publication of this standard, IS 14498 : 1998 stands withdrawn.
