NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Part 2) which is identical with IEC 63182-2 : 2020 ‘Magnetic powder cores – Guidelines on dimensions and the limits of surface irregularities – Part 2: Ring-cores’ issued by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendations of the Magnetic Components, Ferrite Materials, Piezoelectric and Frequency Control Devices Sectional Committee and approval of the Electronics and Information Technology Division Council.

This standard was originally published in 1976 and was based on “IEC Document 51 (Central Office) 157 ‘Dimensions of toroid’s made of magnetic oxides or iron powder”. This IEC was later published as IEC 63182-2 : 2020. The superseding of above mentioned Indian Standards has been undertaken to align it with the latest version of IEC 63182-2 : 2020 and on publication of this standard, IS 7930 : 1976 will be withdrawn.
