NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Part 5) which is identical with IEC 80369-5 : 2016 ‘Small-bore connectors for liquids and gases in healthcare applications - Part 5: Connectors for limb cuff inflation applications’ issued by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on recommendation of the Hospital Planning Sectional Committee and approval of the Medical Equipment and Hospital Planning Division Council.

Technical Corrigendum published in 2017 issued to IEC 80369-5 : 2016 has been incorporated in this standard.

This Indian Standard is published in various parts. The other parts in this series are:

Part 1 General requirements

Part 6 Connectors for neuraxial applications

Part 7 Connectors for Intravascular or hypodermic applications

The text of the ISO Standard has been approved as suitable for publication as an Indian Standard without deviations. Certain terminologies and conventions are, however, not identical to those used in the Indian Standards. Attention is particularly drawn to the following:

a) Wherever the words ‘International Standard’ appears referring to this standard, they should be read as ‘Indian Standard’.

b) Comma (,) has been used as a decimal marker, while in Indian Standard, the current practice is to use a point (.) as the decimal marker.
