NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Part 2/Sec 49) which is identical with IEC 80601-2-49 : 2018 ‘Medical electrical equipment - Part 2-49: Particular requirements for basic safety and essential performance of multifunction patient monitors’ issued by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) was be adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on recommendation of the Electromedical and Diagnostic Imaging and Radiotherapy Equipment Sectional Committee and approval of the Medical Equipment and Hospital Planning Division Council.
