This Indian Standard (Part X04) which is identical with ISO 105-X04 : 1994 ‘Textiles - Tests for colour fastness - Part X04: Colour fastness to mercerizing’ issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on recommendation of Chemical Methods of Test Sectional Committee and approval of the Textile Division Council.

This Indian Standards supersedes IS 979 : 1988 ‘Method for determination of colour fastness of textile materials to mercerizing (first revision).
