NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard which is identical with ISO 11650 : 1999 ‘Performance of refrigerant recovery and/or recycling equipment’ issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Refrigeration And Air Conditioning Sectional Committee and approval of the Mechanical Engineering Division Council.

This standard specifies the test apparatus, test gas mixtures, sampling procedures and analytical techniques used to determine the performance of refrigerant recovery and/or recycling equipment. This International Standard also specifies the refrigerants to be used for the evaluation of equipment, i.e. halogenated hydrocarbon refrigerants and blends containing halogenated hydrocarbons.

ISO 11650 is a bilingual edition in English and French. As the Indian Standard is the National implementation of ISO 11650, only the English language text will be considered while adopting it as an Indian standard.

The text of ISO Standard has been approved as suitable for publication as an Indian Standard without deviations. Certain conventions are, however, not identical to those used in Indian Standards. Attention is particularly drawn to the following:

a) Wherever the words ‘International Standard’ appear referring to this standard, they should be read as ‘Indian Standard’.

b) Comma (,) has been used as a decimal marker while in Indian Standards, the current practice is to use a point (.) as the decimal marker.
