This Indian Standard (Part 2) is identical with ISO 11737-2 : 2019 ‘Sterilization of health care products - Microbiological methods - Part 2: Tests of sterility performed in the definition, validation and maintenance of a sterilization process’ issued by the International Organization for Standardization was adopted by Bureau of Indian Standards on recommendation of the Hospital Equipment and Surgical Disposable Products Sectional Committee and after approval of the Medical Equipment and Hospital Planning Division Council.

This standard was originally issued in 1981 as IS 10150 : 1981, ‘Guide for sterilization of medical product. On publication of this Indian Standard, IS 10150 : 1981, ‘Guide for sterilization of medical product’ shall be treated as withdrawn.
