NATIONAL FOREWORD

The Indian Standard (First Revision) which is identical with ISO 14050 : 2020 'Environmental management - Vocabulary' issued by the International Organization for Standardization was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Environmental Management Sectional Committee and approval of the Chemical Division Council.

This document defines terms used in documents in the fields of environmental management systems and tools in support of sustainable development. These include management systems, auditing and other types of assessment, communications, footprint studies, greenhouse gas mitigation and adaptation to climate change.
