NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard which is identical with ISO 15070 : 1996 Series 1 freight containers - rationale for Structural test criteria issued by International Organization for Standardization (ISO), has been adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on recommendations of the Transport Packages, Packaging Codes, Freight Containers and Pallets Sectional Committee and after approval of the Transport Engineering Division Council.

ISO/TR 15070, which is a Technical Report of type 3, was prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 104, Freight containers, Subcommittee SC 1, General purpose containers.
