NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Part 3) (First Revision) which is identical with ISO 20022-3 : 2013 ‘Financial services — Universal financial industry message scheme — Part 3: Modelling’ issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Banking and Financial Services Sectional Committee and approval of the Management and Systems Division Council.

This standard was first published in 2012 by adopting ISO/TS 20022-3: 2004. This revision has been necessitated because of the publication of ISO 20022-3 : 2013 which cancels and replaces ISO/TS 20022-3 : 2004.

The other parts in this series are:

Part 1 Metamodel

Part 2 UML profile

Part 4 XML schema generation

Part 5 Reverse engineering

Part 6 Message transport characteristics

Part 7 Registration

Part 8 ASN.1generation

The text of the ISO Standard has been approved as suitable for publication as an Indian Standard without deviations. Certain conventions are however not identical to those used in Indian Standards. Attention is particularly drawn to the following:

a) Wherever the words ‘International Standard’ appear referring to this standard, they should be read as ‘Indian Standard’.

b) Comma (,) has been used as a decimal marker while in Indian Standards, the current practice is to use a point (.) as the decimal marker.
