This Indian Standard which is identical with ISO 2415 : 2004 Forged shackles for general lifting purposesDee shackles and bow shackl es issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO ) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Cranes, Lifting Chains and Related Equipment Sectional Committee and approval of the Mechanical Engineering Division Council.

This standard supersedes IS 6132 : 2003 Forged shackles for general lifting purposes - Dee shackles and bow shackles,

The text of ISO Standard has been approved as suitab le for publication as an Indian Standard without deviations. Certain conventions are, however, not identical to tho se used in Indian Standards. Atten tion is part icularly drawn to the following:
