NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Part 4) which is identical with ISO 3826-4 : 2015 ‘Plastics collapsible containers for human blood and blood components ? Part 4: Aphaeresis blood bag systems with integrated features’ issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on recommendation of the Hospital Equipment and Surgical Disposable Products, Sectional Committee and approval of the Medical Equipment and Hospital Planning Division Council.

This standard was first published as IS 15102 : 2002 ‘Plastics collapsible containers for human blood and blood components’ by adopting ISO 3832 : 1993 identically under dual number. On revision of

ISO 3826 : 1993 in four parts, the committee also decided to revise IS 15102 : 2002 in four parts by adopting the respective parts identically under single number. On publication, these four parts will supersede IS 15102.

This Indian Standard is published in four parts. The other parts in this series are:

Part 1 Conventional containers

Part 2 Graphical symbols for use on labels and instruction leaflets

Part 3 Blood bag systems with integrated features

The text of ISO Standard has been approved as suitable for publication as an Indian Standard without deviations. Certain terminologies and conventions are, however, not identical to those used in Indian Standards. Attention is particularly drawn to the following:

a) Wherever the words ‘International Standard’ appear referring to this standard, they should be read as ‘Indian Standard’.

b) Comma (,) has been used as a decimal marker, while in Indian Standards, the current practice is to use a point (.) as the decimal marker.
