NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard which is identical with ISO 4708 : 2017 ‘Composition cork - Gasket material - Test methods’ issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Gaskets and Packing Sectional Committee and approval of Mechanical Engineering Division Council.

This standard supersedes IS 14538 (Part 2) : 1998 ‘Gaskets and packings: Part 2 Composition cork - Test methods’.
