IS/ISO 5361 : 1999 : Anaesthetic and Respiratory Equipment Tracheal Tubes and Connectors

NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard which is identical with ISO 5361 : 1999 ‘Anaesthetic and respiratory equipment — Tracheal tubes and connectors’ issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Anaesthetic, Resuscitation and Allied Equipment Sectional Committee and approval of the Medical Equipment and Hospital Planning Division Council. Indian Standards on tracheal tubes and connectors were earlier published separately as IS 12504 (Parts 1 to 5) and IS 11808 as follows:

a) IS 12504 (Part 1) : 1988 Specification for tracheal tubes: Part 1 General requirements (Based on ISO 5361-1 : 1988)

b) IS 12504 (Part 2) : 1988 Specification for tracheal tubes: Part 2 Oro-tracheal and naso-tracheal tubes of the Magill type (Plain and cuffed) (Based on ISO 5361-2 : 1984)

c) IS 12504 (Part 3) : 1988 Specification for tracheal tubes: Part 3 Murphy type (Based on ISO 5361-3 : 1984) (withdrawn)

d) IS 12504 (Part 4) : 1988 Specification for tracheal tubes: Part 4 Cole type (Based on ISO 5361-4 : 1987) (withdrawn)

e) IS 12504 (Part 5) : 1988 Specification for tracheal tubes: Part 5 Requirements and methods of test for cuffs and tubes(Based on ISO 5361-5 : 1984) (withdrawn)

f) IS 11808 : 1986 Tracheal tube connectors (Based on ISO 7228 : 1985)
