NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Part 2) which is identical with ISO 8559-2 : 2017 ‘Size designation of clothes — Part 2: Primary and secondary dimension indicators’ issued by International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standard on recommendation of the Made-up Textiles (Including Ready-Made Garments) Sectional Committee and approval of the Textiles Division Council.

This standard supersedes IS 14454 : 1997/ISO 4416, IS 14455 : 1997/ISO 3638, IS 14484 : 1997/ ISO 4415, IS 14839 : 2000/ISO 4418, IS 14840 : 2000/ISO 4417, IS 14853 : 2000/ISO 3636 and IS 14854 : 2000/ISO 3637 to align Indian Standard with the corresponding International Standard.
