NATIONAL FOREWORD
This Indian Standard (Part 1) (First Revision) which is identical with ISO 8686-1 : 2012 ‘Cranes - Design principles for loads and load combinations - Part 1: General’ issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Cranes, Lifting Chains and its Related Equipment Sectional Committee and approval of the Mechanical Engineering Division Council.
This standard was originally published in 1995 and was identical with ISO 8686-1 : 1989. The first revision of this standard has been undertaken to align it with the latest version of ISO 8686-1 : 2012
