NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Part 1) (First Revision) which is identical with ISO/IEC 18033-1 : 2021 ‘Information security - Encryption algorithms - Part 1: General’ Issued by International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) jointly was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendations of the Information Systems Security and Privacy Sectional Committee, and approval of the Electronics and Information Technology Division Council.

This Standard was originally published in 2018 and was Identical with ISO/IEC 18033-1 : 2015. The first revision aligns this Indian Standard with ISO/IEC 18033-1: 2021.
