NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard which is identical with ISO/IEC 40180 : 2017 ‘Information technology - Quality for learning, education and training - Fundamentals and reference framework’ issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) jointly was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendations of the E–Learning Sectional Committee LITD 19 and approval of the Electronics and Information Technology Division Council.

IS/ISO/IEC 19796-1 : 2005 ‘Information technology - Learning, education and training - Quality management, assurance and metrics: Part 1 General Approach’ was published in 2012 and was identical with ISO/IEC 19796-1 : 2005. ISO/IEC 19796-1 : 2005 has been revised by ISO/IEC 40180 : 2017. The superseding of this Indian Standard has been undertaken to align it with the latest version of ISO/IEC 40180 : 2017. Once IS/ISO/IEC 40180 : 2017 is published as an Indian Standard, IS/ISO/IEC 19796-1 : 2005 standards withdrawn
