This Indian Standard (Part 1) which is identical with ISO/IEC TR 29163-1 : 2009 ‘Information technology — Sharable Content Object Reference Model (SCORM®) 2004 3rd Edition — Part 1: Overview Version 1.1’ issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) jointly was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendations of the E-Learning Sectional Committee and approval of the Electronics and Information Technology Division Council.

This standard is one of the parts of a series of standards on ‘Information technology — Sharable Content Object Reference Model (SCORM®) 2004 3rd Edition’. The other parts in this series are :

Part 2 Content Aggregation Model Version 1.1

Part 3 Run-Time Environment Version 1.1

Part 4 Sequencing and Navigation Version 1.1

The text of ISO/IEC Technical Report has been approved as suitable for publication as an Indian Standard without deviations. Certain conventions are, however, not identical to those used in Indian Standards. Attention is particularly drawn to the following:

a) Wherever the words ‘International Standard’ appear referring to this standard, they should be read as ‘Indian Standard’.
