NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Part 5) which is identical with ISO/TS 20022-5 : 2004 ‘Financial services - UNIversal Financial Industry message scheme - Part 5: ISO 20022 reverse engineering’ issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Banking and Financial Services Sectional Committee and approval of the Management and Systems Division Council.

This standard is published in various parts. Other parts in this series are:

Part 1 Overall methodology and format specifications for inputs to and outputs from the ISO 20022 Repository

Part 3 ISO 20022 Modelling guidelines

Part 4 ISO 20022 XML Design rules

ISO 20022-2: 2007 ‘Financial services - UNIversal Financial Industry message scheme - Part 2: Roles and responsibilities of the registration bodies’ is also under consideration for adoption as an Indian Standard.

The text of ISO Technical Specification has been approved as suitable for publication as an Indian Standard without deviations. Certain conventions are, however, not identical to those used in Indian Standards. Attention is particularly drawn to the following:

a) Wherever the words ‘International Standard’ appear referring to this standard, they should be read as ‘Indian Standard’.

b) Comma ( , ) has been used as a decimal marker while in Indian Standards, the current practice is to use a point ( . ) as the decimal marker.
