This Indian Standard, which is identical with IEC Pub 381- I I- I/ QC 302401 (1993-07) ‘Fixed capacitors for use in electronic equipment : Blank detail specification for fixed capacitors for electromagnetic interference suppression and connection to the supply mains, Assessmcnr lcvcl D’, issued by the International Electrotechnical Commission, was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Capacitors Sectional Committee and approval of the Electronics and Tclccommunication Division Council.

The text of the IEC standard has been approved as suitable for publication as Indian Standard without deviations. Certain conventions are, however, not identical to those uscci in Indian Standards. Attention is particularly drawn to the following:

a) Wherever the words ‘International Slandarci’ appear rcfcrring to this standard, they should be read as ‘Indian Stanadard’.

b) Comma ( , ) has been used as a ciccimal marker while in Indian Standards, the current practice is to use a point ( . ) as the decimal marker.
