IS/QC 420100 : 1994/IEC QC 420100 : 1991 Varistors for Use in Electronic Equipment - Sectional Surge Suppression Varistors

NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard, which is identical with IEC Pub 105 1-2/QC420100 (1991-01) ‘Varistorsforuseinelectronic equipment - Part 2 : Sectional specification for surge suppression varistors’, issued by the International Electrotechnical Commission, was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Resistors Sectional Committee and approval of the Electronics and Telecomunication Division Council.

The text of the IEC standard has been approved as suitable for publication as Indian Standard without deviations. Certain conventions are, however, not identical to those used in Indian Standards. Attention is particularly drawn to the following:

a) Wherever the words ‘International Standard’ appear referring to this standard, they should be read as ‘Indian Stanadard’.

b) Comma ( , ) has been used as a decimal marker while in Indian Standards, the current practice i,s to use a point ( . ) as the decimal marker.
