NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Part 2) (First Revision) which is identical to ISO 14960-2 : 2024 'Tubeless tyres - Valves and components - Part 2: Clamp-in tubeless tyre valve - Test methods' issued by International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Automotive Tyres, Tubes and Rims Sectional Committee and approval of the Transport Engineering Division Council.

ISO 14960 consists of the two parts, under the general title 'Tubeless tyres - Valves and components'.

Part 1 Test methods

This standard was first published in 2018 which was identical with ISO 14960-2 : 2014 'Tubeless tyres - Valves and components - Part 2: Clamp-in tubeless tyre valve - Test method'. This revision of this standard was brought out to align it with the latest version of the ISO 14960-2.

In this revision, the following major modification have been incorporated:

a) All test methods have been revised;

b) Terms and definitions have been added (3);

c) Test fixture and valve hole dimensions Clause has been added (4);

d) Leakage test method has been added (5.2);

e) Radial force resistance test has been added (5.6.3); and

f) Clauses and subclauses have been renumbered as necessary.

The text of ISO standard has been approved as suitable for publication as an Indian Standard without deviations. Certain terminologies and conventions are, however, not identical to those used in Indian Standards. Attention is particularly drawn to the following:

a) Wherever the words 'International Standard' appear referring to this daft standard, they should be read as 'Indian Standard'; and

b) Comma (,) has been used as a decimal marker, while in Indian Standards, the current practice is to use a point (.) as the decimal marker.
