IS/ISO 6779 : 2023 Test Conditions for Vertical Internal Type Broaching Machines - Testing of Accuracy
NATIONAL FOREWORD
This Indian Standard which is identical to ISO 6779 : 2023 'Test conditions for vertical internal type broaching machines - Testing of accuracy' issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Machine Tools, Machine Tool Elements, and Holding Devices Sectional Committee and approval of the Production and General Engineering Division Council.
This standard was first published in 1981 and was subsequently revised in 2023. This revision has been brought out to align it with the latest version of ISO 6779.
In following major modifications have been incorporated to the revision of the standard:
a) Clause 5.7 on axes not under test has been deleted; and
b) The observations in all geometrical tests have been updated to adjust measurement procedures and interpretation of test results.
The text of ISO standard has been approved as suitable for publication as an Indian Standard without deviations. Certain conventions are, however, not identical to those used in Indian Standards. Attention is particularly drawn to the following:
a) Wherever the words 'International Standard' appear referring to this standard, they should be read as 'Indian Standard'; and
b) Comma (,) has been used as a decimal marker while in Indian Standards, the current practice is to use a point (.) as the decimal marker.
