NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Part 1) (Second Revision) which is identical to 'ISO/IEC 27006-1 : 2024 Information security, cybersecurity and privacy protection - Requirements for bodies providing audit and certification of information security management systems - Part 1: General' issued by the International Organization Standardization (ISO) and International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) on the recommendations of the Information Systems Security and Privacy Sectional Committee and approval of the Electronics and Information Technology Division Council.

This standard was first published in 2010 . First Revision of this standard was published in 2018 and was identical to ISO/IEC 27006 : 2015. ISO/IEC 27006 has been converted into the first part of a multi-part series. The second revision of this Indian standard has been aligned with Part 1 of this multi part series that is ISO/IEC 27006-1 : 2024.
